As some of you know, I am a qualified interior designer and in my blogs I will share some tips and tricks how you should display your beloved artworks.
Art can be the statement piece of the space and it is very important to get the size, colours right.
I have decided to talk about bedroom artwork first as this is where most people get it wrong. The statement artwork above your bed is a focal point and if a wrong size is chosen can make the room lool very unbalanced.

I have put together a list of rules I believe you should consider when hanging up your artwork:
Make sure your artwork is not longer width then your bed.

2. The ideal length is about 2/3rds of your bed
3. The distance between the bottom of your bed and painting looks best at 25-35cm.
4. Artwork in the bedroom should reflect personal style or interest, should be something that makes you happy or means something to you.
5. Abstract, nature and sea scapes can be something soothing and relaxing for a bedroom, portraits or angular or dynamic designs are more suitable for public areas of your home.
6. While you don’t want to match your artwork to your interior decor, you should consider picking a colour in your walls or upholstery and reflect that in the painting to help the space feel cohesive.
7. Sometimes having a gallery wall of lots of artworks is a better option then one large piece. Choose odd numbers like 3,5,7etc. They look more balanced on the wall.
8. Custom order is a great way to have artwork that is the right size, colour and theme for your space. If you can't find an artwork in my current collection I would be happy to create something just for your space. Contact me to discuss this option.
